About The Dive Site

Depth: 0-19 m | Currents: None | Suitable For All Levels

Lying quietly on the seabed of Souda Bay is the skeletal remains of a historic vessel built in Belfast in 1908. Originally launched as a cruise ship, it served civilian passengers from 1909 until 1915, when it was requisitioned by the British Royal Navy to transport troops during World War I. The ship played a role in the Gallipoli Campaign, one of the war’s most critical operations.

Measuring 50 meters in length and 10 meters in width, the wreck offers an atmospheric dive, with the ship’s deteriorating structure still visible beneath the surface. Natural erosion over time has left behind haunting traces of the past—twisted metal, beams, and fragments scattered across the seafloor.
